Risks and Benefits of Screening

Screening for Prostate cancer is a controversial topic. In recent years, good studies have shown that screening for this disease does save lives but it also has risks. They include the possibility of finding a prostate cancer that would never cause any harm and the possibility of getting side effects from treatment that was unnecessary. This video explores the reason for and against screening so every man can make an informed decision on what to do. What is right for one man is not necessarily right for all men. Recently a U.S. agency reviewed the studies of screening and concluded that the risks outweighed the benefits and they recommended against screening but a final report has not yet been issued.
