Treatment of Rising PSA after Hormone Therapy
What are the Options When Hormone Therapy is No Longer Effective?
In most cases, hormone therapy does not eliminate all the cancer. If the PSA rises, local therapy using any of the options may still be possible providing the cancer has not spread. Alternatively, second line hormone therapies can be administered with many men responding for extended periods of time. Here too, the optimal timing of these therapies has not been established.
